Cascade Clamps - Established in Portland, Oregon in 1943, the Cascade Manufacturing Company started as a small machine shop hiring only 4 people. Overall sales for that particular year amounted to about sixty thousand dollars. The first recorded sales revenues involved the assembly and machining of stainless-steel pipe fittings, valves and different parts. Within five years of operation, the company had stretched to 40 staff and their yearly sales volume had increased to $330,000. Nowadays, Cascade is among the leading worldwide producers within the material handling business.
Production and design of the company's first hydraulic cylinder paved the way in Cascade's aggressive pursuit of better business possibilities. During the last sixty years, the material handling industry has matured into a highly sophisticated field and Cascade has proudly played a part in this growth. Cascade currently continues to develop as the premier supplier of forklift accessories and various related items. The business feels assured in their potential in order to continue to lead the way within the business by understanding customer's needs in the future and remaining aggressive in the world market.
During the 1950's, Cascade began to manufacture, design, and promote its hydraulic accessories. A new facility was constructed in the year 1956, so as to house all the plant operations and offices in Portland, Oregon, which remains to be the company's current center of operations. Subsequent to fifteen years of business, total staff reached a hundred and eighty employees and sales had reached practically two million three hundred thousand dollars.
In the year 1959 in Springfield, Ohio a second manufacturing plant was built. 1960 marked Cascade's initial move into the global world of the material handling industry when the business established interest in England, Australia, and the Netherlands.
In the year 1964, the business changed its name to the Cascade Corporation. After that in the year 1965, the business went public with a preliminary offering of 200,000 shares of common stock. Since then the company has expanded its manufacturing amenities within the continental US to the places Warner Robins Georgia to go along with its already current plants in Springfield, Ohio and Portland, Oregon. Cascade products are made internationally because of lots of subsidiary operations. In 1994, a new plant was completed in Almere, the Netherlands which is Cascade's European headquarters. This facility is designed to be the essential customer support centre.
Continuing to develop, Cascade expanded their product offering further in 1996 and 1997 with the dramatic acquisition of 5 firms, together with the international best in blades, the Kenhar Corporation.
